The quarter midget class is raced by drivers from as young as 8 until they are 16. Quarter midgets are a great stepping stone into the world of bigger open wheel racing with the likes of midgets and TQ's being the most popular classes for quarter midget graduates to step into. They are powered by Honda 200cc or Shineray 250cc water cooled engines.
Don't let the small horsepower or the size of the drivers behind the wheel fool you, this class is full of action packed, wheel to wheel racing every weekend.
MEMBERSHIP & LICENSING
SIQMC Membership
Membership to the South Island Quarter Midget Club. Fees help to cover club expenses, purchase prizes etc. 2024/25 membership now available for $20
Speedway NZ Licensing & Club Fees
Licensing for 2024/25 is now available online. A youth competition license for the season is $160. Club fees for the track you are contracting to can be added at the same point.

Membership to race at Ellesmere, Ashburton and other CTRA tracks. Purchased via the Race Control website.
